The Nancy Drew Research Institute
The Nancy Drew Research Institute (NDRI) was formed in 1999 by co-founders Faith Moosang and Jennifer Ray. It was largely a place where a few gathered to talk about knit separates and make large wall-sized spreadsheets on Nancy Drew books. Wise Monkeys, an early online magazine, was interested in the research, and so it became more stringent and moved to digital spreadsheets. While the writing is focussed on parsing Nancy Drew’s life, the thematics that can be drawn upon from her middle-classed white American lifestyle are seemingly without end.
