Lulu Suite – The Athletes – Documentary Shorts
Lulu Suite: The Athletes (Documentary Shorts) (2010) are a series of five videos created with Deanne Achong for the City of Richmond’s Public Art Program. These videos were shot with Team Canada long track speed skaters, in the lead-up to the Winter Olympics. Skaters featured include Brittany Schussler, Jeremy Wotherspoon, Christine Nesbitt, and Lucas Makowsky. Unlike typical sport interviews which focus on the individual, these videos represent the collective responses of the athletes to specific questions about the philosophy of sport and the relationship of the human mind and body. These interviews were featured at the Richmond Olympic celebration site, OZone, in 2010 and are now on permanent display at the Richmond Olympic Experience Museum in Richmond.
