Custom-made Klondike Map, Chung|Lind Gallery, UBC

Co-curated the Chung | Lind Gallery at the University of British Columbia with Dr. April Liu, on behalf of Lost & Found Design Studio, bringing together two significant collections that illuminate Chinese Canadian history and the history of the Klondike Gold Rush. The gallery draws on the Chung Collection, assembled by Dr. Wallace B. Chung and recognized on UNESCO’s Canada Memory of the World Register, and the Yukon Gold Rush collection assembled by Phil Lind. Through objects, photographs, documents, and interpretive storytelling, the gallery brings intersecting histories into view, examining resource extraction, colonial settlement, Indigenous land dispossession, racialized labour, and the experiences of communities whose stories have been marginalized in dominant narratives of British Columbia’s and the Yukon’s past.
